Ladie's Fall Bible Study
As we turn the calendar to September, we anticipate the changing of seasons. I love this time of year, not only because I'm ready for the cool, crisp mornings and comfortable 70's temps, but also because I am reminded of new beginnings: new school year, new Sunday school year, new Bible study, new adventures and opportunities - both for our kids and ourselves. Fall is like a clean slate, a fresh start.
And with that fresh start, I hope you will consider joining us for our Fall Bible study on the book of Isaiah, by Melissa Spoelstra. This study is a 7-week video series. Here is a brief overview of the study:
Following God isn’t about striving; it’s about trusting God more.
Trust is at the heart of every healthy relationship, especially your relationship with God. It’s one thing to say you rest in God, but does your stress level, worry, or general lack of peace give evidence that you rely on Him? In this 7-week study, Melissa Spoelstra encourages you to let go of striving and learn to trust God’s character, His comfort, and even His correction. As you study the book of Isaiah – from the prophet’s challenges to the nation of Israel to prophecies of the Messiah – you’ll see that you can trust God more than your own human effort or the counterfeits the world suggests.
There will be two sessions offered: Tuesday nights from 6:15 - 8:00 pm and Thursday mornings from 9:15 - 11:15 am. The Tuesday evening class will begin on Tuesday September 24th and the Thursday morning class will begin on Thursday September 26th. Childcare is available for both classes, but please let me know ASAP if you'll need childcare services. The cost of study books is $20. If you'd like to register for the class and order a study book, please contact Michelle Toburen at michelletoburen@comcast.net.
Looking forward to seeing you soon and diving into Isaiah, where we can learn how to strive less and trust God more.
