Follow the path of our Savior during Holy Week

Worship our risen Lord and Savior as Christ Reformed Church takes you on a journey that retraces the steps that led Jesus willingly to the cross, then celebrates His glorious resurrection on Easter morning. Our journey begins Thursday, April 14th at 7:00 PM with a traditional Maundy Thursday Worship Service and Holy Communion remembering Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples and his fervent prayer in the garden.

On Good Friday, April 15th from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, our High School Sunday School Class invites you to participate in their Stations of the Cross, which is an interactive, meditative exercise that depicts Christ's journey starting from the events following the Last Supper to the grave.

The early Christian pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem retraced the path of Jesus as he carried his cross to his death. Eventually, the route that the pilgrimage took through Jerusalem came to be called the Via Dolorosa, the Way of Sorrow. Along the Way, certain points on the journey, or stations, were associated with specific events that are recounted in the Gospels. The Stations of the Cross is a tool for us to remember the unfailing love and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ as he endured such great suffering to save us from our sin. Taking time to think, pray and meditate at each station is a spiritual practice that can remind us of the depth of Christ's passion for each one of us.

Our tour of the Via Dolorosa will include 12 stations that begin in the Garden of Gethsemane and finish in the tomb of Jesus. Allow an hour for your journey. All ages are welcome, but we ask that young children are accompanied by a parent or guardian to help them navigate through the stations.

On Easter, April 17th, our jouney concludes as we celebrate Our Savior’s Resurrection and Life with two morning services:

  • 7:30 AM - Traditional Worship Service with Holy Communion, and

  • 10:15 AM - Traditional Worship Service (no Holy Communion)

Join us for worship and celebration this Holy Season!
